Riding the success of two consecutive NCAA Tournament berths, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has named assistant Jim Shaw as its next head men's basketball coach. Shaw replaces Steve Lutz, who was named coach at Western Kentucky on March 18 after two seasons leading the Islanders and a 47-23 record. Shaw came to the school with Lutz when the former head coach took over the program in 2021 and had been interim head coach since Lutz announced his departure. Shaw has 17 years of Division I experience, including stops at Texas Tech, Nebraska, Texas State and UTEP.
